Potential buyers get a first look this weekend at condos for sale in the new Limestone Landing development on the north side of Canyon Lake.
Canyon Lake realtor Beth Lockwood she’s taking phone calls from people who want to schedule appointments to view the 72-residence condominium community, located within the former Holiday Inn Club Vacations Hill Country Resort, 417 April Dr.
Prices range from $99,000 to over $149,000 for 850-square foot condos with newly renovated interiors.
There are over 400 units in the former timeshare property but Missouri-based KC Hospitality only purchased six buildings in April 2025, investing over $1 million to upgrade exteriors and add resort-style amenities like a swimming pool; pickleball, sand volleyball and basketball courts; playground; barbecue area; and open spaces with native landscaping.
“Limestone Landing offers buyers an attainable opportunity to own in Canyon Lake while providing the flexibility to enjoy the property as a primary residence, weekend retreat or investment,” said Jeff Wait, KC Hospitality’s director of development.
The property is designed to accommodate short-term rentals by giving owners the flexibility to rent their residence when they are not using it.
He said the company buys up old timeshare properties and splits them up into individual-use properties.
KC Hospitality considered purchasing properties in Lake Conroe and Tyler, Texas before deciding on Canyon Lake.
“We really love any area that is huge into lake life because we also are,” Wait said. “The first time we came to look at the property, we started kind of roaming around, and we saw the (Whitewater) amphitheater, the green area, New Braunfels, the river, and we were just like, this place is awesome. I mean it really is such a cool area.”
Lockwood said timing for Limestone’s grand opening couldn’t be better.
A month ago, Canyon Lake was only 60% full and flow rates along the Lower Guadalupe River weren’t so appealing to tubers.
Today, the lake is 100% full, and the river is flowing at 250 cubic feet per second (cfs) on weekends.
People who stayed at former timeshares are returning.
“They are all coming back, and they want the old units they stayed in. They remember. And a lot of people have told me that they were just really sad that they had shut it down because of all the properties; this was one of the best and well-maintained.”
