Heavy thunderstorms and high winds Friday forced Suntex to close Canyon Lake Marina today due to debris.
Boat Ramp #19 is closed. Canyon Lake Cantina is open.
The National Weather Service in New Braunfels issued two special weather statements for Canyon Lake, Canyon Dam, Startzville and Sattler between 7-9 p.m. Friday warning of 50-55 mph wind gusts and hail.
Official precipitation amounts for the area have not been released but much-needed rain was reported around the lake.
The same storm system caused widespread damage in San Antonio.
In a statement today, Mayor Gina Ortiz said debris clearance is underway. The city has opened cooling centers for thousands of residents still without power.
