Central Texas reservoirs saw a dramatic increase in storage after the July 4 flooding along the upper Guadalupe River in the Kerrville area, the Texas Water Development Board reported today.
The U.S. National Weather Service West Gulf River Forecast Center said rainfall over July also significantly influenced vegetation growth and ‘green-up’ over central Texas.
As of Aug. 5, Canyon Lake’s level increased by 22.2%, peaking at 68.5% full on Aug. 3. Canyon Lake’s elevation today is 892.71 feet.
On July 3, Canyon Lake was at around 45% of capacity.
Lake Buchanan increased by 40.5%, peaking at 100% full on July 27. Lake Travis increased by 47.2%, peaking at 90.6 full on July 25.
