Scammers are calling residents from spoofed numbers and using actual names of Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) employees to try and collect payments for non-existing warrants and missed jury duty.

CCSO Crime Prevention Specialist Jacob Willlman warned scammers are advising residents that warrants will be issued if payment is not made either in person or through a kiosk at a location in San Antonio.

“Be aware” he said. “The Comal County Sheriff’s Office does not ever solicit payments for warrants or missing jury duty over the phone, in person, or through a payment office.”

For more information or to validate a call contact the Sheriff’s Office at 830-620-3400.
