The 21st Annual Blanco Lavender Festival runs from noon to 6 p.m.. Friday, June 5, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 7 at 300 Main Street, Blanco.
Blanco is the Lavender Capital of Texas.
The dry weather and alkaline limestone soils around the small town 25 miles northwest of Canyon Lake make the area particularly suitable for growing lavender.
This weekend the public can tour Texas’s first commercial lavender farm, shop at a market on the grounds of the historic Old Blanco County Courthouse, and enjoy live music in Bindseil Park.
Also for sale are fresh-squeezed lavender lemonade, handmade lavender cookies, lavender plants, and a full line of lavender products. Beer and wine will be sold at the market.
The event is free, but shuttle service to the farm is $15.
Parking is $20 per vehicle to raise money for a local youth organization. Parking is available behind the Texas Regional Bank, 2nd Mile Recreation Center, and Altered Salon.
Do not bring pets to the event unless they are service animals. Organizers warn of hot pavement.
