Celebrate America’s 250th birthday by enjoying spectacular fireworks displays, parades, and even a street party in the Canyon Lake area.

Personal fireworks are legal in parts of unincorporated Comal County, like Canyon Lake, but illegal at all Canyon Lake parks and boat ramps. Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules apply.

July 3

Hill Country Fun Fest (Spring Branch)

Get ready to kick back and enjoy the fireworks at this family-friendly celebration.

Spring Branch Tennis Association sponsors Hill Country Fun Fest, 5-10 p.m. Friday, July 3 at Jumbo Evans Park, 101 Jumbo Evans Blvd.

The fundraiser features music, a market with local artisans, food trucks, beer and wine, a kids’ zone and the only public and professional fireworks show in Bulverde and Spring Branch.

Presale tickets are $25/car for up to 6 people, or $40 cash/car or $50 with a credit card at the gate.

July 4

Sophienburg Old Time 4th of July Parade (New Braunfels)

Become a part of a cherished hometown tradition by honoring the nation’s history. The parade kicks off at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at Castell and Bridge, winds onto San Antonio Street and around Main Plaza before disbanding at Seguin and Zink.

35th Annual Startzville Community 4th of July Parade (Canyon Lake)

Starts 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4. The popular event attracts hundreds of Canyon Lake residents who pack the parade route along FM 2673 to enjoy customary Americana including a flyover, floats, trucks, jeeps, cars, and local politicians and business leaders.

The procession begins on the west side of Startzville and ends on Old Sattler Road near the Tiger Stop convenience store. Expect street closures.

Fourth of July Party at the VFW (Canyon Lake)

Sattler VFW Post 8573, 14625 River Rd., celebrates Independence Day with live music, dunk tank, military flyover, ax throwing and lots to eat and drink starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4.

Lawn chairs and a sunshade are recommended for outdoor seating.

Live music by Michael Shane and Drew Moreland and the Tiffany Dawn Band.

Old Sattler Road in front of the VFW closes from 9 a.m. to midnight.

Canyon Lake Boat Parade (Canyon Lake)

Get your boats and meet in the no-wake zone near Canyon Lake Marina, 280 Marina Dr. Starts at noon.

VFW Post 8800 Fourth of July Lunch (Canyon Lake)

Cool off in the air conditioning at Startz Memorial VFW Post 8800’s Fourth of July Lunch. Starts right after the community parade ends. Enjoy $7 burger and hot-dog combos. Sides include cheese, potato salad, coleslaw, and chips. The sit-down lunch is casual and family-friendly. The VFW is located at 7755 FM 2673.

Cowboys for Jesus 4th of July BBQ

Starts 6 p.m. Saturday, July 4. Family-friendly event includes food and drinks, games and activities, bounce houses and fireworks. The church is located across from Canyon Lake High School at 8400 FM 32, Fischer.

Liberty on the Lake (Canyon Lake)

Canyon Lake celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a spectacular fireworks show starting at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4.

Liberty on the Lake includes 20 minutes of professional fireworks and a two-minute grand finale.

Pyrotechnics will launch from a barge anchored between Canyon and Jacob’s Creek parks.

The best viewing locations for Liberty on the Lake (aside from boats) are at Canyon and Jacob’s Creek parks.

Additional viewing locations include Comal, Overlook, and North parks, as well as the service road atop Canyon Lake’s dam.

Expect long lines and possible closures.

Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular (New Braunfels)

The City of New Braunfels’ Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular returns to the skies over Landa Park at approximately 9:15 p.m. Saturday, July 4. Fireworks are viewable throughout Landa Park, the Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs, and the Fredericksburg Baseball Fields. Fireworks can be seen in several other places around the city, including Fredericksburg. For more information, click here.
