Comal County Announces Four More COVID-19 Deaths, Reports 226 New Cases
Four more Comal County residents have died of COVID-19, the county said in a statement today.
The total number of deceased is now 514.
- A New Braunfels woman in her 70s who passed away Feb. 3 at her home.
- A Canyon Lake man in his 70s who passed away Jan. 21 at a New Braunfels hospital.
- A New Braunfels woman in her 80s who passed away Feb. 3 at a New Braunfels hospital.
- A Spring Branch woman in her 70s who passed away Jan. 31 at home.
The county also reported 226 new COVID-19 cases today.
On Thursday, local hospitals reported caring for 42 COVID-positive patients. Of those, seven are in intensive care and five are on ventilators. Approximately 69% of these patients are unvaccinated.
Not all COVID-positive patients hospitalized in the county are necessarily county residents.

The Public Health Department is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years and up. Booster vaccines also are available.
