A student who allegedly shot his teacher before turning the gun on himself yesterday at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde used a .357 revolver that he brought to campus from home.
Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds said in a statement issued today the 15-year-old’s motive is still under investigation but he is believed to have experienced “academic challenges, including failing several classes.”
Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies executed a search warrant at the student’s residence, where several electronic devices were seized.
These items currently are undergoing forensic examination so authorities can learn more about the student’s actions and possible motive.
CCSO is working closely with school officials and partner agencies to ensure a “thorough and complete review of all facts.”
Comal ISD has yet to release the identity of the teacher who was shot. She remains hospitalized.
