Comal County today temporarily lifted the burn ban through noon Sunday, Nov. 1.
Burn bans are implemented by the Commissioners Court when the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) reaches 500 points. Thursday, the county’s KBDI was 585 points.
However, several days of steady rain have made brush fires extremely unlikely in unincorporated parts of the county.
Campfires, burn barrels, fire pits and rings are now allowed. For more information, visit the county fire marshal’s website.
