Comal Park Reopens Seven Days a Week, Canyon Park to Follow April 1

The Water Oriented Recreation District of Comal County (WORD) reopened its popular Comal Park today.

Canyon Park, also operated by WORD, reopens April 1.

Comal Park, located at 1178 Comal Park Rd. on the south shore of Canyon Lake near Startzville, is a first-come, first-serve day-use only facility.

No reservations are required at the 116-acre park, whose amenities include:

  • Picnic sites
  • Two boat ramps (No. 3 and No. 4)
  • Pea gravel-and-sand swim beach
  • Playground
  • Restrooms throughout the park
  • Sand volleyball court
  • Soccer goals
  • Four washer pits
  • Community grill area
  • Washer pits
  • Kayak and SUP rentals (additional fees apply)

Entrance fees are $5 per vehicle with Comal County registration sticker and $20 per non-Comal County registered vehicles.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March and October, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. April through September.
