Comal County Commissioners to Canvass Election Results at Thursday Meeting

Comal County commissioners will canvass or officially approve results of the Nov. 7 Constitutional Amendments election at their weekly meeting on Thursday.

Commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the historic courthouse, 100 Main Plaza, New Braunfels.

Included on the regular action agenda are motions to

  • Discuss and consider approval of a temporary construction easement associated with a drainage project on Watson Lake East.
  • Discuss and consider approval of an amendment to the West Connector Study that would establish an alignment schematic and direct the county engineer to update the major thoroughfare plan.
  • Discuss and consider the tax assessor-collector’s monthly collection report.
  • Discuss and consider approval of a correction to an interlocal agreement between the county and Humane Society of New Braunfels for the Animal Control Care Facility and associated services.
  • Discuss and consider approval of and authorize County Judge Sherman Krause to sign a third amendment to the interlocal cooperation agreements for jail services between the county and Hays and Bell counties.
  • Discuss and consider approval of the 2024 meeting schedule for Commissioners Court.
  • Discuss and consider approval of the 2024 county holiday schedule.
  • Discuss and consider approval of an order granting discretionary exemption to Comal Hill Dental for professional restorative dental services and authorize purchasing director to execute all related documents.
  • Discuss and consider a line-item transfer that would provide additional funds for attorney fees for public defenders for the remainder of 2023.
  • Discuss and consider approval of a line-item transfer to provide additional funds for the justice of the peace court jury fees for the remainder of 2023.
  • Discuss and consider approval of a line-item transfer from Facilities Maintenance from mobile phones to fuel, vehicles and equipment to provide additional funds for fuel costs for the remainder of 2023.
  • Discuss and consider approval of a line-item transfer in the county treasurer’s budget from continuing education/travel to checks to cover increase in prices and quantity needed for W-2s.
