Comal County road crews cleaned up the area around Boat Ramp #1, late last week, removing years of rock-and-silt accumulations from the ramp and surrounding area.
“We still anticipate much broader improvements to this ramp and parking area that we are hopeful get approval since we have a plan, the money, the end of boating season, and a significant drought,” said Doug Leecock with the Canyon Lake Boat Ramps Community Alliance.
The group works with Commissioners Court to resolve issues at county-operated boat ramps.
Boat Ramp #1 is located at 579 Skyline Dr. It closed when Canyon Lake’s level fell to 897.60 feet. The lake level today is 889.29 feet.
Comal County operates boat ramps #1, 2, 6, 6, 7, 8, 11, 22 and 23.
These ramps are currently closed due to the drought.
