Crisis Center of Comal County (CCCC) today named Janis Parsley as its new CEO.
Before stepping into the role of interim CEO this summer, she served on the nonprofit’s board of directors and played an instrumental role in CCCC’s capital campaign.
CCCC celebrated its 40th anniversary over the summer and opened a new 30,000-square-foot shelter that welcomed survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and their families into a space designed to dramatically expand services.
Parsley said the new building represents a new chapter.
“This organization has an incredible 40-year history of serving people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives,” she said. “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this team into our next chapter and build on the foundation that so many people in our community have helped create.”
Parsley worked as a pharmacist for HEB after graduating from the University of Houston’s College of Pharmacy.
In 1993, after six years at HEB, she joined the University of Houston, spending the next 30 years building a career in fundraising and advancement.
CCCC provides case management, legal advocacy, crisis response, housing, counseling, emergency services and prevention education to women and children.
