See the stars through a telescope in a real observatory — and learn about the probability of extraterrestrial life at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Tye Preston Memorial Library, 16311 S. Access Rd., Canyon Lake.

A short orientation is planned in the library before everyone heads over to the Ravenstar Outdoor Education Brown Smith Observatory, which houses an 11-inch Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain telescope.

In the event of clouds, Bob Keyser will explore the probability of life in the cosmos.

‘Star parties’ at Astronomy Night are sponsored by the New Braunfels Astronomy Club.

The event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Anyone who has a telescope but needs help using it should arrive early for set up.
