Early Voting for Primary Runoff

Share

Comal County voters can cast a ballot for sheriff, state representative, railroad commissioner and other races this week, as early voting begins ahead of the May 24 primary runoff election.

Early voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations through Friday, except where noted:

  • Comal County Elections Office, 178 E. Mill St., New Braunfels
  • CRRC Building, 1909 FM 2673, Sattler
  • Bulverde/Spring Branch Library, 131 Bulverde Crossing
  • Garden Ridge City Hall, 9400 Municipal Parkway, except Wednesday, May 18, when polls will close at 4 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, May 24, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A list of polling places and their locations, as well as sample ballots, are available at votecomal.com.

Contested races on the GOP side include county sheriff, Dist. 73 state representative, two places on the state Court of Criminal Appeals, and a place on the Texas Railroad Commission. Democrats also will be deciding on a nominee for railroad commissioner.

Anyone registered to vote can participate in this election, even if they did not vote in the March 1 primary, said Elections Coordinator Cynthia Jaqua (JAY-quay), but those who voted on March 1 cannot switch parties to vote in the runoff.

“We encourage everyone to come out and vote,” Jaqua said. “For just five minutes of time, you can have a voice in selecting our leaders.”
