The New Braunfels Astronomy Club honors a former member by dedicating the Bob Keyser Memorial Telescope.
“Bob loved the club and his memory will live on with his lovely telescope in our observatory. We have installed, aligned, and tested this scope and it is ready to use and simple, too. We observed Jupiter and Saturn and the views were stunning, even through the clouds.”
Astronomy Nights kick off with an orientation meeting in the Casteel Room before participants walk up the hill to the library’s observatory, which includes a Celestron 11” SCT plus several telescopes hosted by members of the club. The club encourages anyone who has a telescope to bring it. If not, members will train those interested using the library’s equipment.
