Come and join the stargazing event!

The San Antonio Astronomical Association members and park staff will be present with their telescopes to point out the moon, constellations, planets, and other celestial objects. Participants are welcome to drop in at any time between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on March 4th, 2023.

The event is open to all ages!

The stargazing event will be held in the large overflow parking lot located up the road from the big river parking lot. Attendees can easily find the location by looking for the big blue “Stargazing Tonight” sign on the park road, just across from the parking lot.

The event is free with park admission. Adults must pay an admission fee of $7, while children aged 12 and under can attend for free.

If attendees arrive after hours without an existing day pass reservation, they can use the self-pay station located in the parking lot of the park office to pay their entrance fee in cash or write down their Texas State Parks Pass information on the self-pay envelope. Additionally, attendees can make a “day use” reservation online and pay with their credit card at texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com.

In case of weather issues such as cloud cover, the event may need to be canceled. In such cases, the organizers will update the attendees no later than 2 pm on the day of the event.

If anyone requires ADA assistance, they are requested to inform park headquarters at (830) 438-2656 ahead of time.
