Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will stock 4,000 “surplus” rainbow trout in the Guadalupe River Thursday.

Its Inand Fisheries San Marcos/Austin District stocked 1,047 trout in Blanco State Park today. Thursday, it will add 2,000 trout in the river at Guadalupe Park, just downstream of Canyon Lake Dam, and 2,000 at Camp Huaco Springs.

“These locations were chosen because they provide free public access and have suitable temperature for trout (<70 F), even at the close of the trout-stocking season,” TPWD said on Facebook. “Trout stocking will resume in December 2022, details of which will be posted on our website about that time.”
