Keep Canyon Lake Beautiful (KCLB), which partners with WORD of Comal County to pick up trash on area roadways, Canyon Lake’s shoreline and parks, cut the ribbon on new artwork at the “Welcome to Canyon Lake & the Guadalupe River” welcome area on FM 306 Monday, Aug. 25.

Another piece of metal work depicting cranes in flight by Canyon Lake artist Margie Bivens also was installed nearby on FM 306.

“This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in our mission to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of Canyon Lake,” KCLB posted afterwards on social media. “Your support inspires us to continue making a positive impact in our community, one project, one partnership and one cleanup at a time.”

In attendance were county commissioners Jen Crownover, Pct. 4, and Doug Leecok, Pct.1.

A plaque also installed in the area recognizes KCLB’s Governor’s Community Achievement Award in 2022, one of the most prestigious environmental and community-improvement honors in Texas.

KCLB was selected by Keep Texas Beautiful and awarded first place, along with a grant funded by TxDOT, to beautify roadways.
