Large Grass Fire Temporarily Closes FM 306/Hoffman Lane Area in New Braunfels

A 100-acre grass fire in New Braunfels temporarily closed FM 306 in the Hoffman Lane area yesterday.

Firefighters with New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, San Marcos, Schertz, and Lake Dunlap fire departments were able to mostly extinguish the fire by 5 p.m., New Braunfels Fire Department (NBFD) said in a statement.

No injuries were reported. Subdivisions near the fire were initially threatened but were kept safe and undamaged,

Area roadways reopened around 5 p.m.

Canyon Lake Fire/EMS firefighters yesterday also responded to a grass fire on the north of the lake south of Cranes Mill.
