New Braunfels family physician Dr. Emily Briggs discusses critical issues in maternal healthcare and the challenges posed by Texas laws and policies at a special presentation hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Comal Area (LWVCA) 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at New Braunfels Public Library Westside Branch, 2910 South I-35 Frontage Rd.
The presentation focuses on the urgent need for changes that ensure comprehensive and safe healthcare for pregnant women and marginalized communities.

Briggs Family Medicine specializes in family medicine, prenatal care, newborn care and obstetrics.
Dr. Briggs earned a medical degree and a master’s of public health at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
