Canyon Lake residents and others will cross Canyon Lake Dam in Overlook Park 9 a.m. Sunday as part of Freedom Walk, a Memorial tribute for 9/11 victims, the military and first responders.

The event honors those who gave their lives for freedom, those who served and those currently working as first responders.

Canyon Lake Republican Women hosts the walk.

The guest speaker is retired U.S. Army Sgt. Mario Lopez. Emcee is Pct. 1 Constable Charlie Motz. Peaches Kelly is the featured soloist and Bill Jones performs on the bagpipes.

Due to very limited parking at the dam, shuttles will be provided by Cowboy Plumbing, Corner Tubes and Lindsey’s Luxury Rides.

Park across the street from the CRRC Rec Center, 125 Mabel Jones. Do not park in the CRRC lot near the buildings as church services could be underway.

Shuttles will be available starting at 8 a.m.

Shaded seating and cold water will be available with parking shuttles.
