Mountain Valley Middle School (MVMS) teacher Jennifer Robinson received a $1,000 grant from Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), which today announced the 11 recipients of its Educational Spotlight Grants.
Canyon Lake’s electricity provider said the grants provide educators with the support they need to turn creative classroom ideas into meaningful learning experiences.
Robinson is an AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination teacher. Funding will be used to purchase materials needed to create an AVID design studio that helps students develop college- and career-readiness skills.
She is the only Comal ISD teacher to win a grant this year.
MVMS serves the Canyon Lake community.
“We’re looking forward to seeing teachers bring their ideas to life, using these grants to enhance learning for young students,” said PEC Community Outreach Specialist Kevyn Packer. “We believe these funds will help shape the next generation of PEC members, strengthening our communities for years to come.”
