A 41-year-old New Braunfels High School teacher was arrested Tuesday by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and charged with improper relationship between an educator and student, a second-degree felony.

Bryant Shephard was allegedly observed having inappropriate contact with a female student while on campus.

New Braunfels Independent School District (NBISD) officials notified New Braunfels police who spearheaded an investigation that resulted in Shephard’s arrest in San Antonio.

That investigation is still ongoing, and Shephard potentially faces further charges.

The teacher is currently in Bexar County Jail. Bond was set at $250,000. He remains in and will be transferred to Comal County Jail.

Anyone who believes they were or knows of someone else who was targeted by Shephard is asked to call the New Braunfels Police Department at 830-221-4100.
