New Braunfels Police Department (NBPD) yesterday warned that a bad batch of opioid-laced illegal narcotics believed to be responsible for 50 overdoses and eight deaths in Travis County earlier this week could be headed to Comal County.

The I-35 corridor is a common route for illegal drug trafficking, police said on social media.

Parents are urged to talk to their children about the dangers of taking any medication that is not prescribed by a doctor or dispensed by a legally operated pharmacy.

“And anyone who uses illegal narcotics is urged to seek help and to avoid taking pills or any other medications/narcotics where the source is unknown,” NBPD said.
