History repeated itself Thursday after New Braunfels police (NBPD) chased six juveniles suspected of committing vehicle burglaries down I-35 from FM 306 to Schwab Road.

On Monday, police arrested three men who allegedly broke into a truck at the Creekside Shopping Center at FM 306 and also sped down I-35 before they were apprehended at FM 3009.

On Thursday, NBPD officers responded to a report of vehicle burglaries in the Northwest Boulevard and Conrads Lane area and located a brown Kia Soul near I-35 and FM 306 that was reported stolen.

The driver refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued down I-35.

It ended when the Kia rear-ended another vehicle and became disabled on the outside median of the highway near Schwab Road.

The driver of the Kia, a 14-year-old male from San Antonio, was transported to a San Antonio hospital.

Four other males from San Antonio, ages 12, 13, 14 and 16, along with a 13-year-old from New Braunfels, were detained, medically cleared, processed and released back into the custody of their parents at the direction of a juvenile probation officer.

The juveniles face a variety of charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evading a motor vehicle and theft.

The incident remains under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
