New Year’s Eve Fireworks Legal in Canyon Lake with Some Restrictions

Go ahead, light those fireworks on New Year’s Eve but only in unincorporated parts of Comal County.
Fireworks are prohibited in the city of New Braunfels but permitted in Canyon Lake.
However, Fire Marshal Kory Klabunde said residents whose fireworks cause damage or injury to others can be held legally responsible for their actions.
In Canyon Lake, fireworks are banned from launch on roadways and boat ramps. They also are banned within 600 feet of places of worship and licensed childcare centers and schools. It is illegal to shoot off fireworks from cars or at other vehicles.

Fireworks are not legal on any U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property/park/trails.
On Facebook, Comal County lost and found dogs warned pet owners about fireworks, suggesting they secure their dogs and other pets in a safe, warm, escape-proof area during fireworks. Also recommended is turning up the TV to drown out the noise of fireworks.
Guadalupe County
According to the Guadalupe County Fire Marshal’s office, fireworks are legal outside of New Braunfels city limits in Guadalupe County.
It is illegal to pop fireworks in the street, from a vehicle, across a roadway, or on property that does not belong to you unless you have permission from the owner.
Do not shoot fireworks at people or animals.
It is illegal to ignite fireworks within 600 feet of any church, hospital other than a veterinary hospital, an asylum, a licensed childcare center or a public or private primary or secondary school or institution of higher education without written authorization.
It is illegal to sell at retail, explode or ignite fireworks within 100 feet of a place where flammable liquids or flammable compressed gases are stored or dispensed.
It is illegal to explode or ignite fireworks within 100 feet of a place where fireworks are stored or sold.
It is illegal to ignite or discharge fireworks in or from a motor vehicle. It also is illegal to place ignited fireworks in or throw ignited fireworks at a motor vehicle.
