Update: A pre-trial hearing for a Canyon High School teacher charged with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old student is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 19.

Emily Marie Anderson, 34, was arrested Aug. 16, 2021, after an ongoing investigation by New Braunfels Police Department (NBPD) detectives, who said they were also trying to determine whether other students were involved.

She faces second-degree felony charges of sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator/student.

It’s unclear from the court docket which judge will preside. No trial date is set.

Comal ISD spokesperson Steve Stanford said Anderson was a special-ed inclusion support teacher and assistant cheer sponsor hired for the 2020-21 school year.

Police and Comal ISD did not say when the abuse occurred.

Bond was set at $50,000.
