The U.S. National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio says the Canyon Lake area is under a Red Flag Warning until 8 p.m. today.
Gusty winds and very low relative humidity from the Rio Grande to near the I-35 corridor are forecast. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
A cold front will move through the area this morning through early afternoon. Behind the front, breezy and much drier air will filter into the area.
Any fires that develop could be difficult to control and will likely spread rapidly.
Comal County remains under a burn ban.
