Six of 157 individuals who allegedly clicked on online advertisements related to prostitution were arrested in Comal County as part of an undercover human-trafficking enforcement operation July 28-30, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said in a statement issued by Comal County today.
Dubbed Operation Rolling Thunder 4 by officials, the sting also resulted in the release of six human-trafficking victims who are now receiving comprehensive healthcare assistance and information about services for victims, Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds said.
He did not know if any minors were involved in the sex trafficking.
Investigators used undercover online chats, surveillance, and coordinated enforcement teams to identify trafficking victims, apprehend offenders, and gather evidence.
Arrests were made by law enforcement officials participating in a joint task-force operation by CCSO, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division, and U.S. Air Force OSI.
The dates of the arrests and the names of those involved were not disclosed.
The six offenders were arrested for solicitation of prostitution. One offender was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
“At large” cases will be filed for two other individuals found in possession of narcotics.
“Operation Rolling Thunder 4 is a direct result of the tenacity and dedication of our investigators,” Reynolds said. “They worked around the clock to identify victims and bring offenders to justice. Human trafficking cannot be stopped by one agency alone. It takes strong partnerships, and I am grateful for the relationships we have built with DPS, Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division, and U.S. Air Force OSI. Together, we’re making our community safer.”
Military and federal partners provide a technical capability that local law enforcement does not possess, he said.
In May, Operation Rolling Thunder 3 in Guadalupe County resulted in nine arrests and the rescue of 12 sex-trafficking victims.
In September 2025, another Operation Rolling Thunder in Schertz resulted in the arrests of 16 people who were charged with solicitation of prostitution, Converse police said.
