TPWD Investigating Friday Drowning at Canyon Lake’s JBSA Park

According to a press release by JBSA's 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs, employees at the park notified Comal County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) and emergency services after the man's body was discovered.

Canyon Lake Fire/EMS was unable to revive a 49-year-old man who drowned Friday in Canyon Lake at Joint Base San Antonio Recreation Park (JBSA), 698 Jacobs Creek Park Rd.

The adult male was declared dead at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

According to a press release by JBSA’s 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs, employees at the park notified Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and emergency services after the man’s body was discovered.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is investigating.
