Two Dead in Spring Branch Helicopter Crash

Two people died around 3:15 p.m. today when a helicopter crashed in the 600 block of Lantana Ridge in Spring Branch.

The pilot and passenger were killed.

No further information is available at this time, Comal County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jennifer Smith said in a statement.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating the incident.

The aviation website aviation-safety.net, the helicopter that crashed was a privately owned Vertical Hummingbird 260L that departed from Kestrel Airpark in Spring Branch.

According to Wikipedia.org, the aircraft is supplied as a kit for amateur construction.
