Two popular Canyon Lake parks reopen for the summer season on March 1.

Comal Park, a 116-acre day-use park on the south shore of Canyon Lake, and Canyon Park, a 485-acre day-use park located on the north shore of Canyon Lake, will remain open through Oct. 31.

Both parks are operated by the Water Oriented Recreation District of Canyon Lake (WORDCC). When the parks are full, temporary closures and reopenings will be posted on the Canyon Park on Canyon Lake and Comal Park Facebook pages.

When parks are at capacity cars are not allowed to wait. This is done to avoid traffic backups on roadways.

Drones, overnight camping, metal detectors, RVs/campers, golf carts/ATVs and buses are not allowed. Propane grills are allowed at the park but not personal charcoal grills. Dogs must be leashed at all times.

WORD will not honor passes sold through America the Beautiful and other organizations.
