USACE's new Canyon Lake Manager Brett Mazey has served on the board of the Canyon Lake Dam Community alliance since 2019.

Retired U.S Air Force Lt. Col. Brett Mazey is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) new lake manager.

He has served as a board member of the Canyon Lake Dam Community Alliance, spearheaded by Comal County Pct. 4 Commissioner Jen Crownover, since 2019.

In a statement today, USACE said Mazey’s experience working with that group “brings expertise working with the communities surrounding Canyon Lake.

“These experiences have given him a good understanding of the Corps of Engineers’ lake operations, which include recreation management, environmental stewardship, natural resources, shoreline management, flood risk management, volunteer-and-partnership programs and real-estate management programs,” USACE said.

Mazey’s 20 years of executive leadership experience with the air force included working with USACE to mitigate facility and flood damage to a military medical training campus.
