A woman who said she was in a fight with 62-year-old Edward Canales of Canyon Lake when she allegedly shot and killed him on March 12 today turned herself in after Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) detectives secured a warrant for her arrest.
Cynthia Schubert, age unknown, is currently being held at Comal County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
She called CCSO at around 7 a.m. March 12 from a residence in the 400 block of Deer Valley Street in Canyon Lake and told them she was in a physical altercation with Canales, who she described as her boyfriend.
When deputies arrived they found him lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound.
Canyon Lake Fire/EMS and deputies tried to revive Canales but he was pronounced dead by Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Tom Clark.
