The Water Oriented Recreation District of Canyon Lake (WORD) is $15,000 short of reaching its $65,000 goal to pay for professional over-the-water fireworks for the July 4 Liberty on the Lake celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
WORD plans a professional 20-minute fireworks show featuring a “breathtaking” two-minute grand finale.
“Reflections across the water and echoing booms through the hills set the stage for an unforgettable evening,” WORD promised on its website. “With multiple community viewing locations around the lake, this milestone Independence Day celebration is designed to bring families, neighbors, and visitors together for a safe, festive, and memorable night.”
Donors will receive exclusive access to the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) VIP tent with prime viewing for fireworks, a biergarten, live music, amusement rides, a variety of food trucks and more.
To support the event, visit wordcc.com/liberty-on-the-lake, email libetyonthelake@gmail.com or call 830-907-2300.
The event is organized by the Liberty on the Lake Planning Committee.
WORD operates Comal, Canyon, Cranes Mill and Nicholl’s Landing Parks in the Canyon Lake area.
The park-and-recreation district encompasses Canyon Lake and over 30 miles of floatable water on the Guadalupe River above and below Canyon Lake.
