Upon the announcement of Susan Herr's retirement, our Board of Trustees created a hiring committee to find the right candidate to lead the library. The hiring committee received over a dozen candidates, and after several rounds of interviews they made recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The Bulverde Area Rural Library District Board of Trustees is excited to announce they have hired Montana Rindahl as the new Library Director for the Mammen Family Public Library.

Montana Rindahl joined Mammen Family Public Library (MFPL) in August of 2018 as the Youth Services Librarian. Knowing she wanted to be a librarian ever since she was seven years old, Montana graduated from the University of Texas in 2017 with a Masters of Science in Information Studies. In her new role as Library Director, Montana’s priorities for the coming years are growth, sustainability, accessibility, and belonging. She is committed to building a strong foundation for the long term success of the MFPL and Bulverde Area Rural Library District. She believes that spending time with staff, with our patrons, and in the community will be an invaluable investment to ensure they feel heard and respected through this transition. When asked about her new role Montana shared “I’m excited to continue the library’s work in the community! The library is for everyone - stop by and say hi!”

📣Trail Status Update: As of 12/17/2025, most trails within the park are temporarily closed to all users due to recent rainfall. While light, it has been steady and is causing the ground/trails to remain saturated.

🔥🚫 The county-wide burn ban is still currently on. You can check the status at any given time here: www.comalcounty.gov/289/Outdoor-Burn-Information

⚠The Bald Cypress Trail, River Overlook Trail, Discovery Center Loop and Bauer Unit will remain open to foot traffic only.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in protecting the park's natural resources. Updates will be provided when the status changes.
