Welcome to MyCanyonLake.com. We are an online news site covering news, events and the great outdoors

As we head into Independence Day, the New Braunfels Police Department and Texas Department of Transportation encourage drivers to make safety a top priority by not driving while intoxicated.

From June 19th, 2026, to July 6th, 2026, NBPD will have additional patrols on city streets and IH-35 as part of the Impaired Driving Mobilization enforcement for TxDOT’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP), a grant-funded initiative which adds extra officers on local roadways to increase DWI arrests by those who are operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. This program supports the statewide “Drink. Drive. Go To Jail.” campaign in an effort to save lives by reducing the number of DWI-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities.

Help us make New Braunfels (and Texas) a safer place to drive! Together we can #EndTheStreakTX!

The Madrone Trail is putting on quite a show this week! 🌺🦋

Our pollinator garden at Canyon Park is in full bloom, providing a colorful stop along the trail for both visitors and the pollinators that call it home.

If you're out hiking, take a moment to stop by the gazebo, browse the Little Free Library, and enjoy the sights of the season.

My grandpa and I overlooking Canyon Lake as it was being created...

Some time around then, our family was on the way to John Knox Ranch. My dad pointed to the left and said "They are building a lake over there." I had no idea I would eventually end up living very close to Canyon Lake. Prayers that it will be there for many years ahead. 💖
