Do you know the science behind Canyon Lake's iconic blue hues? 🧠💎

Two main factors give Canyon Lake its beautiful color: limestone and sunlight. The limestone lakebed acts as a natural filter for the water, helping it stay clear enough for sunlight to dive deep down. The light then bounces off tiny dissolved mineral crystals, reflecting those bright shades of teal and blue straight to the surface.

On overcast days or following rainfall, you may notice the water looks a little different. Less direct sunlight means fewer bright blue tones, and runoff can stir up sediment and tiny particles, changing how light moves through the lake.

Pro Tip: For vibrant picturesque views, plan your lake day for a bright, sunny afternoon! 🌊💙
