Comal County Republican Party Chair Mark Montgomery on Facebook today thanked “every voter and volunteer who played an essential role in achieving a remarkable turnout in Comal County” in the Nov. 5 General Election.

He said special thanks were due to precinct chairs and to Mary Wilson, who manages the party’s Facebook page.

“Together, we have proven that when we unite, we are a formidable force for change,” he said. “Let us continue this momentum and engage actively in future initiatives as we champion Republican principles and make our voices heard in Comal County.”

Some of those initiatives, according to memes shared on the Comal Republican Party’s Facebook page, include Russian President Vladimir Putin’s readiness to begin negotiations with U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump, banning the sale of food from China, and celebrating Hamas’ “immediate” end to war after Trump’s election win.

Things were quieter over on the Comal County Democratic Party Facebook page, with the last post from Oct. 22 referencing the race for Texas Senate District 25.

Party Chair Marilyn Aden issued this statement today:

“We are disappointed with the result of this election and dismayed that there is a divide in our country — and our county – between two very different visions for our future. We share the national Democratic Party’s conviction that the economy should work for everyone, health care is a right, our diversity is our strength, and democracy is worth defending, and we will continue to work hard to elect and support candidates who are guided by those values.”

  1. As long as the Democratic Party wants to take everything I have worked for over the last 50 years ‘forthe good of society’,’for the safety of the community’,’it isn’t fair I have something my neighbors do not”. I can go on for pages but in a nutshell I wouldn’t vote for a Democrat if they were running for sewer inspector!
