The McKenna Foundation, whose mission is advancing the health and well-being of Comal County residents, invites the public to its ‘Choose Kindness’ campaign kickoff at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24.
The event features complimentary coffee and treats. Free stickers also will be available at the McKenna Events Center, 801 W. San Antonio, New Braunfels.
The Choose Kindness initiative celebrates good things happening in Comal County and recognizes kind neighbors, McKenna said in a press release Friday.
The public is invited to nominate and submit acts of kindness that occur throughout the year to make “positive actions” of neighbors more visible.
“Despite the countless acts of kindness that happen every day here in New Braunfels and Comal County, they often go unnoticed, unrecognized, and unrewarded,” McKenna said in its statement. “We’re here to change that.”
Attendees at Friday’s event can participate in a ‘pledge activity’ by writing their names or messages on a smiley face and pinning it to giant letters spelling out “KIND.”
McKenna plans to host various Choose Kindness events with local nonprofits and businesses throughout the year.
