On Monday, Aug. 26, Women’s Equality Day commemorates the certification of the 19th Amendment recognizing women’s right to vote 104 years ago. It also serves as a day that recognizes women’s continuing efforts toward full equality.

Women’s equality is on the ballot this November and we cannot afford to stand on the sidelines.

Make your plan to vote now and encourage your friends and family to do so.

Register to vote or check to ensure your voter registration is up to date at the Texas Secretary of State website VoteTexas.gov.

The state deadline to register or update your registration is Monday, Oct. 7.

Find more nonpartisan information about voting in Texas at lwvcomal.org/voting. To find out what’s on your ballot and create your own voting checklist, go to VOTE411.org in early October.

The League of Women Voters Comal Area is distributing nonpartisan information and offering voter registration at community locations now through Election Day, Nov. 5. Find dates and locations at lwvcomal.org/calendar.

Our local printed Voters Guide will be distributed in early October to local libraries, food banks and other community locations.

Your vote has power. The leaders we elect will make decisions that affect your everyday life — your job, health care, energy costs, the economy and more. So don’t sit this one out.
