This past weekend at Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area, our youth hunters went above and beyond! Not only did they contribute to important wildlife management efforts, but 67% of the harvests were donated to Hunters for the Hungry, helping provide nutritious meals to families facing food insecurity this season.

Hunters for the Hungry is a program that works with hunters, meat processors, and food banks to convert legally harvested deer into lean, healthy protein for people in need — turning responsible hunting and conservation into a source of hope and nourishment for our communities.

We are so proud of these young people for showing such care and generosity. Their actions remind us that stewardship of the land and compassion toward others go hand in hand.
