A biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife says theres no cause for the alarm spreading on social media about the dead striped bass showing up along Canyon Lakes shoreline or floating lifelessly near the dam and at Boat Ramp #1. The fish are being squeezed to death by high temperatures and low oxygen levels.

If they’re dead and floating, I’m thinking I’ll be able to catch a few of those baby’s!

Low oxygen due to bacteria??

🌳 Mulch Update for Comal County Residents 🌳

Remember when we told you green waste and paper bags are no longer part of the mulch? Since then, we’ve been producing a new 2” x 2” mulch and it’s been a huge hit!
So popular, in fact, that supplies are almost gone.
👉 If you haven’t picked up your free mulch, now’s the time. It’s great quality and available while supplies last!

⚠️ Next: Beginning September 8, we will pause brush drop-offs for about two weeks while we process the brush piles we already have. Once mulching is complete, more free mulch will be available again for Comal County residents.
